1 1/2 # ground beef 1 medium onion 1 green pepper 4 ribs of celery 1 12oz jar Heinz Chili Sauce 6 oz can tomato paste 1 tsp chili powder 1/2 - 1 cup water 1 tbls shorterning Chop celery, onion, green pepper fine... I use food processor. Brown and drain ground beef. Mix in vegetables and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil... turn on low... simmer at least 1 hour to 2 hours. Start with ½ cup of water... add more as needed. These are even better the second day. Serve on hard rolls... that have the top 1/3 carefully cut off... scoop out a little of the bread... fill with sloppy joe... not nearly so sloppy! Back to Pammy's Online Cookbook!
